Voted “Best Presentation” for IBM 302: Marketing Strategy

Lululemon Athletica is a high-end athletic apparel company for men and women with heavy roots in yoga. The company was founded in 1998 by Chip Wilson and was originally begun as a design studio by day and a yoga studio by night. In 2000, Lululemon Athletica became a standalone store and has expanded to over 200 locations worldwide. Wilson’s vision for Lululemon was to create a community hub for his customers—where they could learn more and converse about healthy lifestyles.

Be You With Lulu is an in-class marketing strategy case study for Lululemon Athletica. The objective was to create a marketing and media plan outlining the marketing strategy to expand the Lululemon Athletica brand to other locations. This advertising campaign was created to launch a new store opening if Lululemon Athletica came to Pacific City mall in Huntington Beach, California. Using Lululemon’s existing marketing tactics and social responsibility, we have designed a marketing strategy that would take over a year’s course to promote Pacific Mall’s new proposed store with an array of events, social media engagements, and more.

All social media advertisements designed are primarily focused on the promotion of the new store opening at Pacific City mall in Huntington Beach, CA. We will be utilizing the most common social media apps that our target audience uses the most—Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat—to post all advertisements. The hashtag “#beyouwithlulu” would be heavily used on our social media for the promotion of the new store location.

Each Lululemon Athletica location has their own Facebook Page, hence, Pacific City will have their own Facebook Page along with their own Instagram account that will be linked to the Facebook Page. Anything posted on Lululemon Pacific City’s Instagram account will automatically be posted onto the Facebook Page as well. We will be utilizing Snapchat to promote the store opening by designing a custom geofilter that will be available for all Snapchat users to use if they’re within the proximity of Pacific City mall and Huntington Beach’s Main Street shopping area.
